Field Service Management Platform for Tatra
Project Overview
Tatra manages facility maintenance across Riyadh, dispatching technicians to client sites for repairs and scheduled servicing. Digital Box built the three-part platform — customer app, technician app, and web portal — that replaced their scattered, phone-and-spreadsheet operation.
The Challenge
Tatra was losing revenue at both ends of the job. Service requests arrived through scattered channels with no structured intake, so leads went cold before anyone followed up, and marketing spend was buying inquiries the business couldn't reliably convert.
In the field, dispatch, job status, and completion reporting ran on phone calls and manual coordination. Office staff spent their days chasing updates instead of running the business, and management had no reliable view of what was happening on site at any given moment.
What We've Done
Digital Box delivered a three-part platform in React Native and web, over four months with a team of five.
The build wasn't the hard part. The hard part was mapping Tatra's actual facility management workflow: every case scenario, every state a job can pass through, every exception the standard flow doesn't cover. We worked through those scenarios with Tatra's operations team before writing production code, so the apps matched how the work is really done rather than how a generic ticketing system assumes it's done. That's the difference between software that gets deployed and software that gets used.
- 1 Customer app (iOS & Android) — service requests, booking, job tracking, and history
- 2 Technician app — job assignments, on-site status updates, and completion reporting from the field
- 3 Web portal — order management, technician assignment, and operational oversight for the office team
Project Results
Structured intake replaced scattered channels, so inquiries now enter a pipeline instead of a phone log. Dispatch moved off manual coordination, freeing office staff from status-chasing. Most importantly, the field team adopted it — the failure mode Tatra had already lived through once, with an earlier system that didn't survive contact with daily operations.
The platform is live and the engagement is ongoing.
